“Father forgive them, for they don’t know what they are doing.”
Unique in His death, never a man died like this one. Instead of screaming and shouting curses at His tormentors, He prayed. Jesus could at any time, have called for legions of angels with the spoken Word of His mouth and blasted every power that was set against His life into outer darkness, He chose to use that power to redeem the world from sin.
So unique was this man Jesus that a death-hardened Roman centurion said of Him, “Truly this was the Son of God.” The sun hid its face from Jesus’ death at the hands of sinful men. Darkness covered the earth for three hours. The earth shook because the dynamic force that brought it into existence died at the hands of sinners. Jesus was truly a one of a kind son. Jesus’ uniqueness continues in His ministry today. His fellowship with God has been eternal, for it wasn’t broken during His stay on planet earth. Jesus is calling us to a life of fellowship with the Creator God, the Father of the universe.
“Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.” (Titus 2:14)
The word peculiar means above and beyond the ordinary. The reason Jesus is a peculiar person is His fellowship with the Father. Jesus said, “I do what I see my Father do, I speak what I hear my Father say.” Although there will never be another like Him, He can make you a peculiar person; one who is beyond the ordinary, if you will learn to fellowship with Him. Men travel around this world to learn from great personalities and you can sit at the feet of the greatest, most powerful man, who has ever graced our world. He was exalted above every ruler and authority that has ever ruled or will ever rule in the sphere of this world or in the realm of spiritual beings, He is King over all.

Look, The cross now raised on high,
Symbol of Christ’s reign above.
Cowering demons fear and fly,
Driven before the flame of Love.
All of hell is mystified;
satan thought this hour was his gain.
Yet we see God’s wisdom:
Death destroyed in Jesus’ Name!
Now we Rejoice in the Triumph of His Name.

“Now after the Sabbath, as the first day of the week began to dawn, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary came to see the tomb.” (Matthew 28:1 NKJ) As it began to dawn, Mary Magdalene came to the sepulcher. She could not wait. That which her heart hungered and thirsted for, lay in a tomb. With great boldness she stood at the sepulcher. The Disciples had all left the scene. Some people found it hard to stand by Christ while He was alive. Yet she stood by Him in life and in His death, faithful, though all others had fled.
Her desire was not for the angelic; her search was for the Christ. If Christ is your one and only love and your heart has ruled out all rivals, you will not long lack the presence of His company in your life. Let our hearts be like hers in that she loved much. Arouse us Lord, to that same intensity of affection, so that our hearts may be satisfied with nothing short of being filled with your presence.

This Easter season brings the word resurrection to the surface in conversation, in preaching and singing all over Christendom. It is a doctrine that brought much argument and criticism to the early church, and the world doesn’t understand it to this day. Let’s take a fresh look at the word resurrection. That word in the New Testament means to stand up and to rise. In the Old Testament in Isaiah 26:19, these terms might best describe the word resurrection; life, to rise and to awaken. Isaiah said, the dead shall leave their bodies, they shall rise, O dwellers in the dust, awake and sing for joy. Isaiah was talking to living people about resurrection. That is important to our understanding of scripture. Resurrection not only has happened, it continues to happen in people who are alive unto God.
Paul said it this way, if we died with Him, then it is certain we shall be united with Him by a resurrection like His. Ephesians. 2:6 says, we have been raised up with Him in heavenly places in Christ Jesus. We’re raised up now; resurrection has come! If we are buried with Him, so we will be raised to newness of life.
This year look to the cross; don’t be afraid of the death that took place there, but look on, look on into eternity. Look at His resurrection since you died with Him, you are raised with Him. The Holy Spirit said through Paul, the power of God was able to raise Jesus from the dead and place Him at His right hand, God is certainly able to raise you from death to His right hand. United together in the likeness of His death, we shall live in the likeness of His resurrection power, see Romans 6:5.

“Lord, only you know”, was Ezekiel’s response as he walked through the valley of dry bones. The Word says that there were many dry bones, not just a few, but a whole valley full. There are dry bones all around us today: neighbors, friends and business associates; so dry there is no victory, joy or hope left in their lives, only desolation.
Then God asks the question, “Can these bones live”? Ezekiel was no optimist! All he could muster up was, “Lord, only You know”. This was NOT the place to stir up a revival. Only God could cause revival in THIS place! Even where the imps of hell have left such desolation, God says there can be revival !
The Lord told Ezekiel, “Prophesy upon these bones and say unto them: Oh you dry bones, hear the word of the Lord God. Behold, I will cause breath to enter into you, and you shall live”. (Ezekiel 37:1-8) Ezekiel gave the word of the Lord and as he did, there was noise and shaking and the bones started coming together. Revivals are always a little noisy. When God starts moving, things get “shook up”. Bones start getting meat and muscle and coming together. We can be the instigators of revival in our church and in the world. How do YOU answer the question, “Can these bones live”?
